A seven-year-old actress will soon be starring in a murder mystery on ITV with a host of movie and television stars.
Sophie Hollyman, who lives in Newton Bromswold and goes to Wellingborough School, will be appearing in an episode of the new Miss Marple series, which will be broadcast on ITV1 next year.

Julia McKenzie will be playing Jane Marple in the new series of four films, and will appear with stars including Matthew MacFadyen, Rupert Graves, Helen Baxendale and Wendy Richard.Other stars with parts in the drama series include Penelope Wilton, Brian Cox, Maxine Peake, Alex Jennings, Ian Ogilvy, Sean Hughes and Joan Collins.

Sophie said: "It was good fun being in Miss Marple and I liked it a lot.

"I liked the place I was acting in because it was a little wood.

"I didn't meet many famous people, but I am excited about being on television and I have told all my friends."

Sophie appears in an episode called They Do It With Mirrors, in a flashback scene set in a sun-dappled arboretum, when the character of Mildred, played by Sarah Smart, has a flashback to her childhood.

Lianda Hollyman, Sophie's mother, said: "Sophie has enjoyed performing since the age of four, when she was in her school nativity play.

"The ITV production team got in touch with Stagecoach, the drama school she goes to in her spare time, to say they were looking for a girl to play the young Mildred.

"They saw her photo and wanted her straight away. Sophie is a drama queen and loves to perform."
