Patient's shock at behaviour of dentist

A dentist wearing a bloodstained jumper shocked a single mother by forcing a crown on to her tooth after dropping it on the floor, a disciplinary has heard.
Abiodun Bamgbelu failed to wash the cap and then became aggressive as she squirmed in the chair during the painful treatment.
It is alleged she was forced to return to the surgery in agony just hours later to have it removed because he was the only NHS dentist available.
Bamgbelu also claimed she only had children to get a council house and accused her of trying to bite him, the General Dental Council heard.
The fitness to practice committee was told Bamgbelu failed a hygiene examination at one of his two practices in neighbouring Bedfordshire just weeks earlier.
Patient A told the hearing she visited Bamgbelu's surgery in Park Road, Wellingborough, in April last year to have a new crown fitted on an old filling.
She said: "I remember being concerned about there being no box of gloves in the room, just a general absence of that seemed a bit odd.
"He put some gloves on that had just been on the side.
"I remember not wanting him to put his hands in my mouth, and he was pulling at my mouth a bit, and he said I was a bad patient and I was trying to bite him.
"His manner had really changed. He had become quite aggressive and he just wanted to get on with the job.
"I remember him making some comment about: 'I will leave you with half a tooth then.' It wasn't very nice."
Patient A said that when she eventually left the practice, the temporary crown fell out before she reached the front door of the surgery.
The hearing continues.
