Firefighters visited nursery schoolchildren to explain their role in the local community.
Children from Redwell Nursery School, Wellingborough, were given a talk by firefighters and also got the chance to see a fire engine.

Four-year-old Nathan Denton, and his friend Olivia Baldry were given the chance to squirt water from a hose pipe.

Nursery manager Lisa Westbrook said: "I would like to say a big thank you to Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service for visiting our nursery to support our topic, People Who Help Us In The Local Community.

"The children have been learning about different roles in the community and the visits to our nursery have been wonderful.

"We have also been lucky to have visits from PCSO Howard, from Northamptonshire Community Police, and nursing staff from Redwell Medical Centre.

"It was a really fun day, enjoyed by all the children and staff."
