Concern is growing for a man missing from Wellingborough, who has not been since August 28.
Police officers are becoming more and more worried about the welfare of Melvyn Hargreaves, 44, who lives alone in Talbot Road, Wellingborough.

He was last seen when he visited the post office in Midland Road at about 9.30am on August 28 but Police are unable to find anyone who has had contact with Melvyn since then.

Melvyn has health difficulties and is regarded as vulnerable because of this. Police are now asking for anyone who has seen him or knows where he may be to contact them as a matter of urgency.

Melvyn is a white man, 5ft 3ins tall and slim. He has wavy brown/grey hair and is clean-shaven. When last seen he was wearing a white tee-shirt, green shirt, jeans, white trainers and a blue zip jacket.

Detective Inspector Ali Reynolds of Wellingborough Crime Investigation said: "We are becoming more and more concerned about Melvyn, who is vulnerable and doesn't appear to have been seen by anyone for some time now. It is completely out of character for him to disappear like this.

"We need to know where Melvyn may be so that we can reassure ourselves he has not come to any harm and I would ask anyone who has seen or heard from him to get in touch with us."

Posters are going up in shops and other locations around Wellingborough today to encourage anyone who has seen Melvyn to contact police on 08453 700700.
