14 men arrested after being discovered in the back of a lorry in Wellingborough

Twelve men have been taken into custody and a further two taken to hospital after they were discovered inside a lorry in Wellingborough this morning.



Police were called to a business premises on the Park Farm Industrial Estate at 11.30am after reports of banging from the inside of the lorry.

On opening the lorry 14 men, believed to be from Iraq and Afghanistan, were discovered.

Two have been taken to Kettering General Hospital for assessment while the remaining 12 have been taken into police custody at Corby Police Station.

The Borders and Immigration Service have been notified.

Can we take it the police have photocopied maps to the nearest immigration service centre together with instructions in these mens language in anticipation of the immigration service telling the police to let them go and make their way south?

.... or am i to late and they already are :-)

Lets keep hold of them in Wellingborough, they could fill the void left by all the Eastern Europeans going back home!!!

14 Iraqis and afghanistanis popping out of the back of a lorry....not even Paul Daniels managed that one...now thats magic.
