Unidentified orange lights have been spotted in Northampton's night sky - and those who saw them said they were not an aircraft.
A number of people have reported seeing a cluster of lights in the sky on Tuesday night, while a similar phenomenon was also spotted in Earls Barton at Christmas.
Steve Parish, of St James, was one of those who spotted the lights above Northampton
. He said a lot of people gathered to watch the "odd" lights, about 14, some of which were in the shape of a triangle.
He said: "They moved forward and there were a number of others, moving slower than a helicopter. I got my binoculars out and saw they were roughly cuboid in shape, with a plume of flame at the bottom. They appeared to be like an upside-down lampshade."
Others also reported seeing the soundless lights, which did not have a flashing action associated with planes and helicopters.
Tara Dickens, of Far Cotton, saw the lights from her bedroom window and rushed into her garden to have a clearer look. She said: "They were in the sky in a line formation and they went across the sky and then disappeared."
Spencer Mitchell, another Far Cotton resident, said: "There were about 10 to 15 of them, moving from west to east and the last three were in the shape of a triangle.
"They were probably travelling for about five minutes and carried on going until they were out of sight."
Earls Barton resident James Soars saw orange lights on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
