Squirrels got into the roof of County Hall in Northampton and chewed electrical cables, leaving some of the county council's headquarters without power.
Twelve staff had to temporarily move into another part of County Hall as the damage to the cables was repaired today.

A spokesman from Northamptonshire County Council said: "It appears that squirrels managed to get into the roof and have chewed through some of the electrical cables, causing the power to this part of the building to go off on Wednesday afternoon.

"Repairs will take place to make sure squirrels can't get into the roof again. It is not yet known how long this work will take."
