EVENING Telegraph reader Robert Scott sent in this spooky shot.

The picture was taken in the grounds of Great Oakley Church recently.

Mr Scott said: "Is it a ghost? a holy man? or even Jesus?"

Remember, if you have a weird and wonderful story or picture click here to send it to our Readers' Champion Nick Tite.

Our reader Andrew Chalmers e-mailed Nick with these comments:

Just to add a little accuracy to your photograph in Monday and Wednesday's ET. The Great Oakley ghost is not in the graveyard. It is in Great Oakley park, next to the footpath. Although to add to the mystic it is close to the church and enclosed grave yard.

A photograph first appeared in January 2007 on the geograph website (hence this emails reference to accuracy!!!), after some very murky misty weather. You can follow the link below to a picture taken by a young local photographer mapping the locality in pictures for the geograph website.

The ghost is a light hearted reference to the Monk's well, a famous ancient landmark of the village. Doesn't the broken branch look like a monk? Wouldn't it be nice if there was a history of a ghostly monk roaming the village who has been finally sealed into the trunk of a tree!!
