More than 100 dogs have been rescued after being found abandoned in squalid conditions at kennels.
Two of the dogs have died and RSPCA inspectors spent all day yesterday rescuing the others from Wardana Kennels in Brigstock.

Many of the animals were found covered in excrement and without water in their cages.

The alarm was raised by a dog owner who had left his pet at the kennels. When he couldn't contact the owner he broke in and was confronted with the distressing sights.

RSPCA inspector Justin Stubbs said: "There was faeces everywhere. You wouldn't expect to see so many big dogs in such conditions. I'll be going home and having a stiff drink tonight."

Well - we should have seen this coming! Mary Ellen Collis went Bankrupt around 18 months ago, as it was spread in the Citizen about her misfortune. Since this date, i have been surprised to see the business continue as she had record debt.

However, for her to abandon them poor dogs, is utterly disgraceful. Her partner, Bill Crosbie who has been with her since 2007, currently a local HGV Driver, used to breed Sheep Dogs back in Sheffield before moving to Corby in 2001.

Therefore, for two supposedly fantastic dog lovers, what an act of disgracefulness, hopefully these two people will be caught and punished.

Thats if they are caught - as they have obviously run off together....most probably, and most likely, out of the country!!

I boarded my cat & dog there in 2007.
When I collected them my dog was smeared in faeces and the cat was so thin and ill he died a month later.
I vowed NEVER to go there again. Thank God for Gerry Green kennels at Brixworth
