Officers and staff from a safer community team are helping to make children safer and healthier.
The Wellingborough Rural South Safer Community Team are sponsoring children at Bozeat Primary School who will be taking part in a walking to school scheme.

The SCT will be providing the school with 50 high visibility yellow waistcoats to make sure motorists can see them clearly on the footpaths.

Clamping down on speeding motorists is currently a priority for the Wellingborough Rural South Safer Community Team.

PCSO Rob Stevens said: "Vehicles travelling too quickly through Bozeat has been flagged up to us as an issue by residents in the area.

"We want to help make the children as visible as possible and make sure that people who use the route are aware that children are walking to school.

"When motorists realise that children are using the area they should check their speed and slow down."

The waistcoats will be handed to the school at 11am on Friday 21 November at Bozeat Primary School.
