The history doesn't favour a Foxes win

Leicester City head to the bright lights of London tonight for their FA Cup third round replay with Crystal Palace.

The two sides played out an uninspiring 0-0 draw at the Walkers Stadium 11 days ago and fans will hope for a bit more excitement at Selhurst Park.

But in truth, Leicester probably won't mind how they've played if they end up with a higher-league scalp at the end of the night.

The Foxes will be confident having cemented their position at the top of Coca-Cola League One last weekend with a 3-0 home win over struggling Leyton Orient and taken their unbeaten run to 13 in all competitions.

However, history does not favour them. On each of the four occasions these clubs have met in the FA Cup, the side playing away from home has failed to score.

While he might not admit it, Foxes boss Nigel Pearson would probably be quite happy to lose this game if it meant Leicester getting promotion at the end of the season.

However, with another Championship side, Watford, awaiting the winners in round four, the prospect of a good cup run is something the fans will relish.

And the Foxes also have December's Powerade League One player of the month in their ranks after 23-goal striker Matty Fryatt got the nod from the awards panel – completing a neat club double after Pearson won

December's managerial equivalent.

Fryatt will again spearhead the Foxes attack tonight as Pearson looks for his side to continue the momentum of the Orient win.

"Generally speaking, we played very well in that game, we looked solid at the back and produced a good all-round display," he said.

Leicester from: Martin, Gilbert, Hobbs, Tunchev, Berner, Morrison, Mattock, Oakley, A King, Davies, Dyer, Gradel, Fryatt, Dickov, Howard, Cisak.
