Teamwork the key as County see off District

Northamptonshire under-10s produced a solid team effort to beat the Northampton & District under-11s by 13 runs.

The County side started well as Sam Hanson (37) and Jack Hobbs (30) put on 68 in 12 overs.

But the District side's spinners fought back with a clatter of wickets and it needed a late 16 from Matthew Clarke to get the county to 123 off their 35 overs.

The district reply hit early trouble as Harry Penberthy (3-20), Albert

Oswald (3-7) and William Charter (1-5) reduced them to 55-6.

A brief revival got them up to 99-7 but Oswald returned to finish them off for 110.
