Sinclair leaves Poppies but two set to sign

Adam Sinclair has left Kettering Town.

Speculation had been rife in recent days that Mark Cooper's assistant-manager had departed the A-Line Arena.

The news was confirmed by the club as the preparations get underway for the new Blue Square Premier campaign.

The Poppies have also agreed terms with young pair James McPike and Ryan Beswick.

Left-winger Beswick arrives from Leicester City while striker McPike was with Birmingham City.

And it has also been revealed that Kettering are in talks to sign an experienced left-back.

Sinclair's departure may come as a surprise after he played a key role in the success of the club over the past couple of years.

He arrived at Kettering as a youth coach but soon became Cooper's right-hand man as the pair plotted the Blue Square North title success.

He remained at the club for an eventful first season back in non-League football's top flight which also included a superb run in the FA Cup.

It now seems certain that Nicky Eaden will assist Cooper in the forthcoming campaign.

Eaden's coaching role with the club became more influential at the back-end of last season, although he was still featuring as a player at right-back.

A Poppies statement said: "The club can announce the departure of first-team coach Adam Sinclair.

"We would like to thank Adam for his contribution to the club which saw both league and cup success.

"Adam was a well liked individual among both the playing staff and everyone around the club.

"We wish him all the best and hope that he goes on to enjoy further success.

"The club is also pleased to announce that terms have been agreed with James McPike and Ryan Beswick.

"They have played Blue Square football with Solihull Moors and Redditch United over the course of last season.

"Finally, the club can confirm that we are in talks with an experienced left-back which we hope will lead to a signing in the near future."
