Robinson's happy to share praise around
Seven clean sheets so far in 2010 have secured plenty of praise for the Rushden & Diamonds defence.
Even when they conceded against Barrow and Hayes & Yeading United, the free-scoring form continued until a recent run which has only produced three goals in five games.
But successive 1-0 wins at Histon and Tamworth have kept Diamonds in the Blue Square Premier play-off pack.
Tomorrow they would settle for any victory over Gateshead to make it eight matches unbeaten at Nene Park.
Left-back Kurt Robinson's consistency has been a key factor in Diamonds' push for promotion this season – although he is quick to
appreciate the efforts of all his team-mates.
He said: "The defence have done really well and we've got a lot of clean sheets under our belt.
"But it's not just about us. The front three are stopping the ball coming down and the whole side works well together.
"Paul Terry has done a great job as a defensive midfielder. Nicky McNamara slotted in there for a little while and Max Porter did well last week.
"We're really happy and we don't mind what the score is as long as we get three points.
"We've left it late a couple of times as well. But it's all about winning games."
The league table has seen Diamonds in the play-off places over the last month while their rivals continue to drop points under pressure with a quarter of the season to go.
Robinson admitted: "We are getting a little bit excited but we've got to hold it back.
"Things are going well so we've just got to keep playing our normal game.
"The midweek results have gone in our favour again, apart from Luton Town winning.
"Now we've got 11 cup finals where we must keep putting the effort in.
"Playing well as a team is the most important thing and then we can let our football do the talking.
"At home we will be looking to push forward.
"Gateshead would be happy with a point tomorrow. We've got to take the game to them and win it.
"I think we'll have too much for them. Hopefully we can score more goals but we would take another 1-0."
Robinson was also full of praise for keeper Dale Roberts – particularly since a proposed switch to Gateshead broke down at the end of the January transfer window.
He added: "Dale has made some great saves and there was one to remember at Tamworth last week.
"His communication is spot-on and he has done really well.
"Hopefully the points will add up because we are very confident without showing it too much. We don't want to appear cocky or arrogant."
