Posh opportunity was too good for Geohaghon to turn down
Exodus Geohaghon insists the opportunity to play for Peterborough United was too good to turn down.
The giant defender watched his Kettering Town team-mates for the last time last night as they slipped to a second successive home defeat against Hayes & Yeading.
Geohaghon completed a loan move to join Mark Cooper at London Road earlier in the day and that will be made permanent in January.
His move was part of a busy day as Francis Green also departed – to Oxford United – while former Rushden & Diamonds winger Marcus Kelly joined the Poppies from Oxford on loan.
Geohaghon described his spell at the Poppies as "adventurous" and then backed new boss Lee Harper to turn things around after two defeats and no goals in his first two Blue Square Premier games in charge.
"The opportunity to go and play at the level just below the Premier League is a dream come true," Geohaghon said.
"It's all about getting my head down now and trying to get a place in the starting line-up.
"Mark recognised that I did a good job for him down here at Kettering and now he wants me to work with him again. I have taken the opportunity to do that and I can't wait.
"It's bittersweet leaving especially with the FA Cup game against Leeds United coming up and that would have been a massive one to play in.
"But I couldn't refuse the opportunity to play at Peterborough.
"There are some huge clubs in the Championship and I have to take this chance.
"It's been adventurous and unpredictable at Kettering but now I am moving on.
"I really hope the lads can get back on track here.
"The club is in a transitional period. It's a difficult job for Harps especially as he is still playing.
"But I am sure he will get them back on track."
Poppies boss Harper, meanwhile, insisted he will be working overtime to bring further new faces in to boost his depleted squad.
"We are working really hard to bring people in and we have got Marcus in and he will hopefully improve us," Harper said.
"I have been working on things and I have got a few people lined up. We need three or four in and I have been onto a few friends in the game to try to get some bodies in."
