Kettering golfer Charley Hull has been named as part of a A 12-strong Britain and Ireland preliminary squad for June’s Curtis Cup match at Nairn in Scotland.

Fifteen-year-old Hull is the youngest and is joined by her Woburn club-mate Lauren Taylor who studies at Moulton College and was named BBC Young Sports Personality of 2011 last month.

Irish twins Leona and Lisa Maguire, 17 like Taylor and part of the team beaten two years ago, are selected again and the other squad members are Amy Boulden, Holly Clyburn, Bronte Law, Becky Harries, Kelsey MacDonald, Pamela Pretswell, Kelly tidy and Stephanie Meadow.

The side to take on the Americans will be announced on March 27.
