Only a win will do for Bones in survival bid
Rothwell Town have reached the point of no return in their bid to remain a BGB Southern League side.
But the situation is simple enough for the Bones.
As long as they get a better result at home to Stourport Swifts than Woodford United manage at home to Soham Town Rangers, they will survive in Division One Midlands.
Simple as it all sounds, though, realistically Rothwell know only a win will suffice tomorrow as their goal-difference is the worst of the three sides in trouble.
Also, Soham will be playing their third game in a week and are likely to be feeling the strain.
And with only pride to play for, they could well choose to give some of their regulars a rest and give some of the squad players a game.
Rothwell know they have to hope Soham are still up for a game and also Romulus, another mid-table side, who play the other team in the relegation battle, Arlesey Town.
But while the situation is not good for the Bones, manager Rob Dunion will take heart from their display in the midweek draw with high-flying Nuneaton Town.
And he knows that all his side can do is make sure they win their game first and foremost.
"It's a case of get the win first and then see how many we can win by, that will be the strategy and the players will be sent out with that in mind," said Dunion.
"The important thing is at least we're still in the fight, albeit it's slightly out of our hands."
The Bones have suffered a major blow with captain Martin Flannigan unavailable but Ali Wiltshire returns.
Chairman Peter Bradley has again called on local fans to come and back the Bones in their hour of need.
"We want everyone, whether they are regulars or first-timers to the ground to come and support us as we need them all," he said.
