OGs just have edge in nine-goal spectacular

Grammarians edged out Rushden & Higham in a nine-goal thriller in the Northants Ladies League Division Two.

Sarah Pace and Shelley Stromdale exchanged hat-tricks with Fliss

Goodlliffe and Jade Sartain also on target for the Wellingborough side while Jackie Green got Rushden's other goal. Wellingborough 3rd shared four goals with Earls Barton.

Jo Chapman and Harri Jones saw efforts cancelled out by Emily

Anderson and Betsy Bates.

Corby were hit for six without replay at home to Towcester 3rd.

Wellingborough 2nd put in a gutsy display away to Daventry and were unlucky to lose 4-3 in Division One.

They came back three times with goals from Charlotte Redden, Jane Valentino and Sue Waller and put pressure on the Daventry team.

But, despite excellent play from Amelia Chapman and Sue Morris, they were not able to stop the strong Daventry attack.

Wildcatz lost 2-0 at Saints 2nd while Kettering 3rd are still looking for their first point after a 3-1 defeat to Rothwell & Desborough.

Kettering went 2-0 down but fought back and when a penalty corner from Michelle Tansor was initially blocked and Jenny Mason was the first to react to the rebound. However a late goal wrapped up Rothwell's victory.

Wellingborough under-13 juniors played another mixed seven-a-side tournament.

Strong play from Isaac Chapman, Milly Beesley and Sophie Billson led to one win, one draw and one defeat.
