Lee Howard new Raunds manager

Raunds Town have appointed Lee Howard as their new manager.

He was previously assistant to Colin Ridgway – who was sacked by the Shopmates last month – and has also had spells in charge of both Thrapston Town and Higham Town.

Howard's assistant will be former Northampton Town and Rushden & Diamonds player Aidy Mann.

Raunds chairman David Tyrrell explained: "We wanted to stabilise things and keep a bit of continuity.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the applicants.

"But we have been impressed with Lee and we felt it would be a shame

to bring in someone else when that would probably mean the break-up

of a young side which did well for us last season.

"Aidy also comes in with a bit of experience so we're hoping to push forward."

Daren Young has taken over as Irchester United boss following Kenny Codrington's dismissal at the end of last season.

Young first came to prominence in charge of the Corby Town under- 18 side and has previously done well in Division One with Peterborough Northern Star where he finished fifth in 2006-07 and Huntingdon where his side came fourth in 2007-08.

Whitworths have named Seb Hayes as director of football.

Peterborough-based Hayes has previously managed Oundle in the Peterborough League, Yaxley Reserves in the United Counties League and, after joining Thrapston Town as Paul Smith's assistant, he took the managrial reins at Chancery Lane in January, remaining in charge for the rest of the season.

Rothwell Corinthians are looking for a new manager following long- serving Frank Ielapi's decision to step down from the hot seat.

Ielapi took charge at Sergeant's Lawn in August 2003 and during

his tenure he steered Corinthians to promotion to the Premier Division and Northants Junior Cup success.

He will remain with the club as a committee man.

Former Corby Town boss Pat Rayment is Deeping Rangers' new manager.

He was assistant manager in a second spell with the Steelmen and also held a player-coach role with Kettering Town.
