Kettering Town boss linked with move to Burton

Kettering Town manager Mark Cooper insists he knows nothing about speculation linking him to the vacant managerial post at Blue Square Premier champions Burton Albion.

The Poppies boss is one of a number of names rumoured to be in the frame for the top job at the Pirelli Stadium.

Roy McFarland turned down the job of guiding the Brewers into the Football League after he led them to promotion having taken over from Nigel Clough.

It has sparked plenty of speculation as Burton search for the right man to take them into Coca-Cola League Two.

Cooper is no stranger to being linked to other jobs after he was strongly rumoured to be in line to take over at Oxford United during last season before Chris Wilder was appointed at the Kassam Stadium.

Of the speculation linking him to Burton, the Kettering manager said: "I haven't heard anything about that to be honest.

"And while that is the case I am just going to concentrate on my job here.

"Until the chairman comes along and tells me another club wants to speak with me then I have a job to be getting on with.

"Of course, it's always flattering to be linked with clubs of a higher level and Burton are now a Football League club.

"But I certainly haven't had anyone talking to me about it."
