'Ideal opportunity' for squad to shine
Tonight's derby date at Rockingham Road is "an ideal opportunity" for the Rushden & Diamonds squad, according to boss Justin Edinburgh.
The NFA Hillier Senior Cup quarter-final has been switched to Kettering Town's ground due to floodlight failure at Nene Park.
Both clubs are set to give run-outs to players who have not been involved in Blue Square Premier and FA Cup ties over the last few weeks.
Edinburgh said: "It's an ideal game for those who are coming back from injury or others who haven't had many minutes because the first team are doing so well.
"It's going to be a good test for them in a competitive match."
The Diamonds line-up will feature Joe Day, Jack Ainsley, Simon Downer, Nicky McNamara, Matt Pattison, James Reid, Danny Mills and youth-team players. Rob Wolleaston is hoping to recover from a sore calf.
Meanwhile, loan signing Jefferson Louis could be back in training at the end of this week after his debut was ended early by a knee injury.
Aaron O'Connor and Neil Cousins are due to resume training today.
Poppies defender Ian Roper is likely to miss out with a head injury suffered at Cambridge United while left-back James Jennings remains a long-term casualty.
New boss Lee Harper is set to hand starting places to Damian Spencer, Andre Boucaud, Jean-Paul Marna, Darren Wrack and Danny Thomas.
Admission prices will remain at 10 for adults, 5 concessions and 2 juniors.
Bookings are still being taken for supporters' travel to Diamonds' next two away games.
They go to Salisbury City on Saturday, leaving the Lightstrung at 10.45am and Nene Park 15 minutes later. The cost is

Departure times for Cambridge United next Tuesday are 5.15pm and 5.30pm. The cost is 10.
