Harper: Please back us

Lee Harper is hoping Kettering Town fans will stick by him and his team as they look to overcome their poor start to the new Blue Square Bet Premier season.

But the Poppies boss is aware that the pressure is starting to build on him after just one win in the first seven matches.

Kettering slipped into the bottom four following a 2-1 home defeat to table-topping AFC Wimbledon at the Elgood's Arena at the weekend.

Harper's men produced an impressive first-half display against the Dons but paid the price for not continuing it after the break as Danny Kedwell struck the winner 11 minutes into the second half.

The knives aren't quite out for Harper just yet. And the manager firmly

believes he can make his team come good.

"It's up to us to keep working hard and believe that we are going to get it right," the Poppies boss said.

"It's frustrating because I don't think our performances have been bad. I do feel like nothing is going for us.

"I am not sure how we didn't get a penalty in the second half when Iyseden was brought down but I can't keep blaming referees.

"I honestly believe we have a team that can be up there at the end of the season.

"I will keep going right to the end because the lads have shown their

commitment and desire in games and you could see at the end of the game how frustrated they were and how much it hurt.

"Ultimately, it's down to me and I will keep going until I am told otherwise.

"The players want me to be successful and they want to do well.

"We will stick together and keep believing. And I hope the fans do as well because I feel frustrated for them.

"They know how much the club means to me and I am so determined to get it right. I hope I can.

"If we go out and show that passion and desire then I believe the fans will stick by us. It's there for everyone to see and if they see that then they will back you to the hilt."
