Harper kept busy as signings arrive on deadline day

It was another busy day of transfer activity for Kettering Town as four new players arrived before the loan window closed.

Poppies boss Lee Harper swooped to sign Milton Keynes Dons pair Sol Davis and Ritchie Partridge while Mansfield winger Craig Dobson and Tranmere Rovers striker Kithson Bain also arrived on temporary deals.

And a busy week for Kettering was completed with striker Damian Spencer joining Blue Square Premier rivals Kidderminster Harriers on loan.

Harper had predicted he would be making some big moves ahead of

the deadline after Francis Green and Exodus Geohaghon both departed

earlier in the week. And he was pleased with his new acquisitions.

"Things needed freshening up and we have done that so I am happy," Harper said.

"Ritchie and Craig are both primarily wingers but could do a job in midfield as well while Sol is a very experienced defender.

"We wanted to bring in players who can help to get us playing the way I want us to and I believe we have done that.

"The preparations for Leeds have started and we will be working hard over the next couple of days to make sure we are ready for the game."

Former Liverpool winger Partridge, who also had a spell at Coventry

City, has made five appearances for Milton Keynes this season while Davis, who was previously with Luton Town, is a 30-year-old left-back.

Dobson has previously been with Stevenage Borough and will become a free agent once his loan move to the Poppies ends on January 4 while Bain has made five substitute appearances at Prenton Park this season.

Harper, meanwhile, insisted a loan move will do striker Spencer good as he has struggled to hold down a spot since arriving in the summer.

"Damian wanted to go out on loan to see if he could get a few games under his belt," Harper added.

"Hopefully he will get that and I am sure he will be a lot better for it."
