Hall rises above rivals in a multi-terrain test

Rebecca Hall came out a convincing winner in the final round of the Wellingborough Multi-Terrain series at Irchester Country Park.

The Kettering Town Harrier battled over the muddy surface to finish the 10km distance in 41.09.

Her effort brought her home well ahead of her nearest rival, Hannah Cooke of Cambridge Tri Club, who clocked 44.23 and Bedford Harrier

Sarah Lee (46.16).

Top county club runner home on the male side was Rugby & Northampton AC's Steve Dixon who ran 41.52 for fourth position while also running well was Wellingborough & District AC's Simon Hobday who finished 18th in 45.08.

At the front of the race unattached William Auger (39.13) won from Nailsea Running Club's Mark Pattinson, who recorded a time of 39.32.

The Kettering Town Harrier pair of Debbie Galletta and Andrew Clawson both finished seventh in their respective 5km races. Galletta ran 25.06 in the ladies race which was easily won in 19.41 by Bedford Harrier Renee Corbett while Clawson clocked 20.10 as Nick Burch (Cambridge)

took top honours in 17.48.

Evelyn Clawson was another Kettering athlete to perform well when she ran 1.18.25 for seventh in the female section of the 15km race which was won by Rugby Tri Club's Jane Needham in 1.08.30.

Wootton Road Runner Lee Berill, who has been consistent throughout the series, again ran well to clock 56.39 for sixth in the men's race which Cambridge Tri Club's Tom Vickery won in 51.33.
