Gavin has no worries ahead of the rematch

Gavin Strachan feels Corby Town have nothing to worry about ahead of their big clash with Eastwood Town in the Blue Square North this weekend.

The two sides are meeting for the second time in a week after the Badgers won 2-1 in the FA Cup at Coronation Park last week.

But this weekend's league clash is at Rockingham Triangle and Strachan feels the Steelmen's second-half display last week should stand them in good stead for the upcoming rematch where a win will take Corby above Eastwood in the table.

"If we'd been played off the park then obviously we'd be worried," said Strachan.

"But watching the game, I thought we were the better team.

"I thought we had the better chances and it was a good yardstick of how far we've progressed.

"It gives us a lot of motivation going into next weekend and we think

we certainly have enough to beat them."

As a further boost for the Steelmen, Strachan himself might also be fit to return to the side.

The former Coventry City and Notts County player started the season in the centre of the Steelmen midfield but has missed the last three games with a foot problem sustained in the home clash with Hinckley United.

But having been frustrated on the bench for the last month, the

Scotsman is now keen to get back into action.

"It's a nerve in my foot that's been causing me problems for a few weeks," said Strachan.

"But it's easing off now thanks to our physio Kev Grundy's miracle hands and we're getting there now and I'm looking forward to getting back.

"I hope I can play a part this weekend because we're doing well and I want to be part of it."

A further boost for Corby could also see last season's Southern League player of the year Dean West back at right-back after appearing as a second-half substitute on Saturday.
