Ladak: Tomorrow is a key day
Irthlingborough KTFC new ground finalised: The key to our future, Chairman Imraan Ladak. 03/08/11
Imraan Ladak says tomorrow’s hearing with the Football Conference will be the first of a number of key days for crisis-stricken Kettering Town.
The Poppies chairman has been speaking out about the club’s problems, which include a winding up order issued by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, a failure to pay their players and a transfer embargo that remains on the club.
The Poppies will answer a charge of failure to pay football creditors in a personal hearing with the Conference tomorrow, which could result in a points deduction if they are found guilty.
Ladak has confirmed he remains in talks with parties interested in investing at the club but he admits tomorrow is an important day as far as they are concerned.
He said: “There are lots of days that you could call key.
“There is the winding up order on February 6 where we aren’t expecting the club to be wound up.
“But there are other key days including matches.
“However, the first and most important one which will shape the mindset of potential investors is today. It will shape their decisions.”
Ladak has also spoken about Mark Cooper’s decision to “step back” from his role as caretaker-manager until the off-field situation is resolved.
Ladak added: “Mark came in under the expectation that the embargo would be lifted and, at that time, there was no winding up order.
“At the time we were in discussions with the Conference and we expected the embargo to be removed.
“So Mark took the job and agreed to do it but the embargo wasn’t lifted because of the winding up order. That has obviously frustrated him and I get that.
“The other side is of the argument is that circumstances change in life all the time for every single one of us.
“When you are in a position of management you need to be strong enough to deal with it and you need to be able to sit down with your line manager or chairman and have a sensible discussion about why things have changed and what’s being done to alleviate that.
“But Mark has declined every opportunity to have that discussion.
“So I am a bit confused. We brought Mark in because he is a fantastic manager but I don’t think he is doing himself or the club any favours by the way he is dealing with the situation.”

Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 07:08 PMYou are correct, rushdenpoppy, Ladak had only a minor shareholding in DRC Locums. James Caan's company, Hamiliton Bradshaw, took over the majority shareholdings of DRC founder Darren Card and finance director Riaz Dhanji, who both left the company. Ladak remained at the company, as CEO, but left shortly after the deal was concluded so you have to suspect that Caan was not happy with the sponsorship deal that Ladak set up.

Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 02:18 PMI think you will find that Ladak did not "own" DRC. He may have had a small stake in it and may even have been a statutory Director of it, but own - I don't think so. I'll have a look on the Co's House web site.

Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 01:34 PMITS NO SURPRISE REALLY WHEN YOU OWN THE SPONSORS COMPANY (DRC) (LADAK) LEND THE COMPANY THE MONEY TO SPONSOR THE CLUB THEN CHARGE AN ENORMOUS INTREST RATE TO DRC FOR THE LOAN. NO WONDER THAT THE CLUB IS IN SUCH A MESS. BIT LIKE ROBBING PETER TO PAY PAUL BUT WITH YOUR OWN MONEY.

Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 10:20 AMThank you rushdenpoppy for explaining things that I simply have not got the patience to explain. There are so many stupid idiots who go onto forums like this one and have no concept of business. They don't understand that at the moment you start pay an employeee, you have a financial committment to the Inland Revenue. The very fact that the club has failed to pay non-football creditors as well as the numerous football creditors that have now declared themselves unpaid, leads me to believe that the club is in a very precarious situation.

Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 09:29 AMThe level of idiocy and speculation this saga is generating is beyond belief! It wouldn't be so bad if the majority of commentators were stakeholders, i.e. real KTFC fans. even Idiotnet struggles to compete with some of the comments by some of the regular commenators on this site. HMRC have applied to wind up the company as it owes them PAYE and VAT, not Coproration Tax.. Whether the Club makes aprofit or a loss, PAYE is still payable on wages earened (even if not actuially paid to) players and other paid staff and VAT on season tickets, sponsorship and other sales is also payable. Despite Ladaks utterings there is no "winding up order"! That will be made on 6 Feb unless there is a very good reason why not (there could be a short period of adjournment if Ladak can make a very good case for one). The Club knew about the winding up proceedings, which the ET has reported were commenced and served in December, so Ladak can't say that is something new. So if he knew the embargo would not be lifted without the winding up being dismissed andor the debts to players and other clubs being paid, he must have known that the embargo could not be lifted until after 6 Feb, so he blagged his way into persueding Mark Cooper to join his sinking ship. It's time Ladak reaised that no one beleives a word he says any more. If DRC owe so much and for so long, why have proceedings not been commenced and judgement obtained and execute long before now? Could it be that DRC allege that there is no Contract and therefor no debt and he can'twon't pay legal costs as he's not certain he'll win? The Court will certainly want to know, if DRC is going to be trotted out Mantra style yet again as the reason no one has been paid for anything over the last few months and you won't pul the wool over it's eyes! Imraan - You're less popular that an Italian Cruise Liner Captain right now so follow his example and "accidentally" fall into the next passing lifeboat! Wake up, smell the coffee and go!! Even if you manage to peruade an "investor" to bail the Club out and keep you on, you're a lame duck and no-one, especially the fans that you need behind you, will ever trust you again. You know it makes sense - go now before it is too late for this once proud Club. You've gambled with it's future once too often.

Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 09:06 AMI am now under the impression that Mr Ladak is determined to drive the club to oblivion. Some of his comments are beyond comprehension and to now blame Mark Cooper is bordering on insanity! Now is the time for all Poppy fans to get together and take direct action against this complete idiot. We should have guessed he wasn't quite right in the head when he appointed that blithering geordie as manager all those years ago!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11:11 PMLets give Imraan Ladak the chance to put things straight tomorrow, then we we see one way or another, just read Northwich Vic have lost their ground, so yet another club up the spout. The FA are failing the lower league clubs, talk about grass roots and players coming through, what roots will be left, makes me sick when I hear players want to leave a club (prem) for more money, like £90,000 per week.

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11:01 PMAnd I can tell you that there's money owed all over the place, not least the players and the management. .You talk out of your backside !

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 10:50 PMA STRONG RUMOUR HAS IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imran Ladak sunk around £1.3m into the club and this is where the money owed rumour has emerged from. The actual tax owed is a pittance next to this I believe around £20- £30,0000 plus a few debtors around £50,000 total. Now.... Supposedly... the new potential buyers have enough to get the club up to around league One depending on results of course... but Imran has been stalling the takeover as he wants to retain a 50% share in the club !!! I dont know how that works out Imran !! The club owns nothing but you want to keep 50% of somebody elses input when they bail you out... I honestly believe he should let go before it goes to the wall. He put his money in and for whatever reason it has not worked out for him. Let somebody try and do a better job...Oh and by the way Imran w hear you are crap at poker too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better pack that in also. Report Unsuitable

We are all confused mr ladak for that very same reason! How dare you criticise others for the way they are dealing with the situation when you have failed to deal with it all season. Not paying people, not paying taxes, killing a proud football club and still insisting on dragging it out to the bitter end. You utter DISGRACE.
