Drury's work is done with McGhee's arrival

Corby Town boss Graham Drury has completed his summer transfer activity with the capture of winger Jamie McGhee from Blue Square Premier side Mansfield Town.

McGhee, 20, played for the Stags in the Football League when he was just 17 but fell out of favour under the new management at Field Mill last year.

"He was looking for a new challenge and direction in his career and he feels we are the best club to offer him that," said Drury.

"He's quick and he's very direct in his style and approach which will give us another option going forward.

"He'll certainly add plenty of pace to the side and I'm looking forward to seeing him develop as a player for us as the season goes on."

McGhee's capture gives Drury 23 players in his squad to start pre-

season with ahead of the Steelmen's first campaign in Blue Square North.

As well as McGhee, the other new face in the Steelmen ranks is Corby lad Billy McKay, who will join them for pre-season after being released by Leicester City at the end of the last campaign.

"Billy has been looking sharp and we'll have to see what happens with him over the next few weeks as to whether he stays but things have been looking positive," commented Drury.

"I'm not actively looking to bring in any more players now but of course you never know what might suddenly crop up out of the blue.

"If a very good player suddenly becomes available and would suit us then of course I'm going to be interested.

"I'd never say never but as far as I am concerned at the moment, this is the squad of players we will start pre-season with now and I don't envisage any anyone else coming in"

The Steelmen are now back in training ahead of their first pre-season match against Southern League neighbours Rothwell Town on July 9.
