Drury demands consistency to push for play-offs

Graham Drury has called on Corby Town to get back to doing what they do best tonight – winning away from home.

The Steelmen head to Northwich Victoria for another crunch game in the Blue Square North play-off race with Drury looking for his team to build on their weekend 4-1 home win over Vauxhall Motors.

"We needed the result at the weekend and that's given everyone a good confidence boost ahead of what will be a hard game tonight," said Drury.

"We haven't managed back-to-back league wins since October and if we want to get into the play-offs then that's got to change.

"Away form has always been our strength and it's something of an irony

that just as we've picked up at home we've gone and lost two in a row away.

"That's been our problem of late – inconsistency.

"But if we can put together the sort of unbeaten run I've been

looking for us to do for a while now then we have the chance to really get ahead of our play-off rivals.

"I think Northwich are one of the top three sides we've played this season, right up there with Fleetwood and Southport.

"Their manager Andy Preece has done a great job there considering they started the season losing 10 points.

"Despite that they're still in the play-off picture. Without losing those points, they'd be on the verge of the top three.

"So there's no doubt tonight's game will be a very tough one for us.

"But we have faced these sort of games in the past and done well in them. We need to get back to that sort of form again."

Drury has been handed one boost by the news that the deal to keep Liam Dolman on loan from Kidderminster Harriers for the rest of the season has been completed.

"It's great news for us and the lad himself and it adds that extra bit of quality to the squad which is what we need now," enthused Drury.
