Diamonds closer to four deals

Justin Edinburgh is ready to complete four deals for Rushden & Diamonds tomorrow.

And the boss says two more signings would then finish off his transfer business ahead of the Blue Square Premier season.

Diamonds are set to confirm season-long loans for two young midfielders from a Coca-Cola Championship club.

They have also agreed moves for two forwards – although plans to bring in a centre-half will have to wait a little longer.

Edinburgh revealed: "Things are progressing well and I'm hoping that by the end of the week we will only have two positions to fill.

"Oxford United, Stevenage Borough and Mansfield Town have done a bit of

business.

"But other than that, there has not been a lot of activity at our level.

"Hopefully we are getting there and it will look much stronger in the next couple of days."
