Delight for Desborough boss in the battle to stay up

Buzzing was manager Martin McLeod's assessment of the mood in the Desborough Town camp after his side pulled clear of the Premier Division relegation zone.

Goals from Danny Rogers, Darren Wheeler and Dan Kitching in the first half plus Michael Keall and Michael Boyle-Chong in the second period capped a stunning win.

"We have got the right balance in the side and the right lads and it is all finally paying off," said a delighted McLeod.

"Winning breeds confidence and since we got the win at Boston the lads have been buzzing and they still are.

"We can start looking above us now and teams like Spencer and S&L. We'll take it week to week but it's great to be fourth from bottom now."

Desborough man of the match: Michael Keall.
