Brigstock in the hunt as Haddon drop down
Brigstock moved to within striking distance of the second promotion place in Division Two as they thumped East Haddon by 91 runs at The Meadow.
The result not only closed the gap on Loddington to nine points but it also condemned East Haddon to Division Three cricket next season.
And with their remaining fixtures being against struggling S&L Corby and a free-falling Finedon 2nd, Ian Sharp's side will fancy their chances of joining Oundle in the second tier.
A good all-round team performance secured the points for the home side.
After being put into bat, Brigstock mustered a competitive 198-6 from their 50 overs thanks mainly to the efforts of Sat Singh (77) and Nigel Shiells (47no).
Michael Hale (4-46) was the pick of the visiting attack and his performance proved to the one bright spot as his side crumpbled to 107 all out in their reply.
Ollie Mullen picked up 5-13 in just four overs and Trevor Erskine and Suk Singh claimed two wickets apiece as the hosts won with 12 overs to spare. Brigstock 28pts, East Haddon 3.
