Bishop betters his rivals to claim win

Dave Bishop led the way home when members of Little Harrowden fished a sweepstake on the River Ise at the Slips.

He almost doubled the weight of his nearest rival after drawing a peg on the big bend and netting eight chub and a few nice dace.

Result: Dave Bishop 17lb 2oz, Jerry Roberts 9-7, John Edwards 6-0, Mick Dudley 3-3, Dave Chamberlain 1-7. Next match: the club will end its season for river fishing on Sunday with another match on the Ise and anyone who would like to take part should ring Jerry Roberts on 07799 864435 ASAP. With very little rain expected for the rest of this week this venue should be in superb condition.
