Another away point is right result for Corby
When he comes to reflect on this game, Corby Town manager Graham Drury should find himself coming to the conclusion that it was a good result.
In the immediate aftermath, he believed it to be fair and he was right.
Some will feel the Steelmen should have taken all three points.
But when all is said and done, this was a second successive away point against another in-form play-off rival in the Blue Square North
following their midweek draw at Northwich Victoria.
And a point and a good display at the end of a week that saw the Steelmen fall three further points off the play-off pace without even playing thanks Farsley Celtic's demise was something to make the long journey north worthwhile.
Workington isn't actually in Scotland but, after five hours on the road, you feel it might as well be.
But the trip back will have given Drury plenty of time to consider how his side's play-off bid is looking.
The answer is that it is looking alright, still on course. But they know they need to start winning again soon.
At half-time they were on track to do just that after the sort of professional display that has become their hallmark in away games.
After surviving a first-minute scare when Reds striker Gareth Arnison shot wide when he should have scored, Corby took the lead in the ninth minute.
A mistake by home defender Kyle May allowed Leon Mettam to race clear and score at the second attempt after his initial shot was blocked by Reds keeper Tony Caig.
Corby controlled the first half and Jack Defty nearly doubled the lead when heading wide on 32 minutes while May's problems continued when he almost put through his own goal.
However, things changed after half-time as Workington – and Arnison – came to life.
He had a 62nd-minute penalty appeal turned down following a challenge by Mark Osborn, a yellow card for diving adding insult to despair for Arnison.
But he had the last laugh five minutes later when his cross-cum-shot flew into the top corner for a spectacular equaliser.
At that point, Workington were on top.
But far from buckle, Corby came out fighting and proceeded to be the better side for the final 20 minutes.
Try as they might, though, they couldn't find a winner – although they went mighty close.
Defty's looping header on 70 minutes looked for all the world to be in and it appeared an optical illusion that it somehow stayed out.
Chris Hope was also out of luck as his bullet header from a corner was tipped away by Caig to ensure the points were shared.
