Rushden & Diamonds youth team player Aynsley McDonald has been called up to the Welsh Under-17 squad for an invitational Four-Nation tournament in Sweden between Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Wales.
The tournament is for under-18 teams. However, Wales will be sending their Under-17s in preparation for their forthcoming UEFA Qualifiers.

Paul Driver, head of youth at Nene Park, said "It's a training camp and three games so it's another bit of great news for Aynsley.

"He's obviously done enough to get into the squad yet again, which is made up of all-Premier League and Championship players.

"Aynsley's call-up acts as yet more proof, if we needed it, that we must be doing something right in the youth system."

Wales' fixtures in the competition are against Iceland (July 14), Norway (July 16) and Sweden (July 18).
