David Wigley has signed a new two-year contract with Northamptonshire.
The 26-year-old seamer - who has made 24 first-class appearances for the County taking 74 wickets - has extended he will stay at the club until 2010.

Wigley said: "I am really pleased to be staying in Northampton.

"I am enjoying my cricket and I believe we are going places with the current group of players.

"After Stephen Peters, David Sales and Rob White signed, it helped me make my decision to commit to the club"

"Personally I am bowling as well as I have for years and at the end of this new contract I will only be 28 with my best years still to come."

Chief executive Mark Tagg said: "It is great for the club that David is staying for the next two seasons.

"He is the sort of player who lifts the spirits of the changing room and his bowling has continued to improve to the point where he is now a regular first team contributor and hopefully this will continue."
