NORTHAMPTONSHIRE STEELBACKS lost by six wickets with two overs to spare in their rain-affected Friends Provident Trophy match with Nottinghamshire Outlaws.
The Outlaws were about to start their reply to Northants' 189-7 in 50 overs but the players were forced off the field before a ball was bowled.

Stephen Peters (90) and Lance Klusener (60no) were the batting heroes for the Steelbacks with a stand of 106 after Northants had been reduced to 64-5 early on.

Darren Pattinson, Charlie Shreck and Luke Fletcher had done the early damage for the Outlaws as Riki Wessels, Niall O'Brien, Daivd, Sales and Nicky Boje all fell cheaply.

Notts' reply got off to two false starts before the skies finally brightened enough for Duckworth & Lewis to set them 143 in 30 overs.

The game was in the balance again at 116-4. But Adam Voges finally saw the Outlaws over the line with an unbeaten 42.
