LEE PHILLIPS has signed for Rushden & Diamonds.
The 27-year-old striker has joined Garry Hill's side for £17,500 from fellow Blue Square Premier rivals Torquay United. The fee is the same that Torquay paid Exeter City for the forward 12 months ago.

He found the target 16 times for the Gulls during their campaign that saw them reach the play-off semi-finals.

Phillips' arrival comes just 24 hours after Daryl Clare joined Diamonds from Burton Albion.

Phillips said: "Although I had two years left on my contract, Torquay wanted to sell so I had no option to look elsewhere.

"Diamonds came in with an offer and Jon Challinor is one of my best mates from playing at Exeter. I'm absolutely delighted to sign.

"I've had success with Weymouth, Exeter and Torquay. I'm coming here to win things with the club's aspirations."
