Derbyshire batted out the afternoon before the game came to an end as an inevitable draw with the visitors on 278-5.

They had wrapped up the home side's innings this morning for 341 - a first-innings deficit of 144 - but there was never time to force a result and Derbyshire opted for batting practice.

David Capel's side now turn their attention to the Pro40 opener against the same opponents at the County Ground tomorrow. The game starts at 1pm.
