Despite a season in division one new England team manager Martin Johnson has decided to give the huge potential of Hartley a call up for the two-Test series.

Hartley will have to beat off Bath's Lee Mears and London Irish's young hooker David Paice, who is also uncapped, to get a place in the macthday 22, but it will be a dream come true for the Saints hooker.

The 22-year-old will be going back to his homeland as he was born in New Zealand and only came to England to travel before being spotted by Worcester and then snapped up by Saints.

But winger Chris Ashton has missed out on a place in the England Saxons squad as they look to defend the Churchill Cup in North America. Though Ben Foden, set to join Saints from Sale for the start of next season, is in the Saxons squad.

Steve Borthwick will captain England on this summer's England tour to New Zealand. The Bath Rugby lock will lead a 32-man squad that was announced today by England's Elite Rugby Director Rob and Andrew and England Team Manager Martin Johnson.
