Lee Harper has labelled Kettering Town's home clash with Forest Green Rovers on Saturday as "must win".
Tuesday night's disappointing 2-0 defeat at Altrincham saw the Poppies drop out of the Blue Square Premier play-off places.

The weekend game against a Rovers side who are looking doomed to relegation is the first of three successive home matches with clashes against Mansfield Town and local rivals Rushden & Diamonds following on.

And boss Harper insists it will be up to his players to take their chances and ensure they turn their home form around in the final stages of the season.

"I think Saturday's game is a must win," he said.

"We want to keep ourselves in there and we have played an extra game than most of the teams around us.

"We should be a force at home and that's what we must do between now and the end of the season. We really need the fans to turn out for us for the final push.

"In the last two home games we have created the chances but not taken them and we will have to be better in that department.

"But once the lads cross the white line it's up to them to make the right decisions when they are in front of goal.

"No-one is happy about what happened on Tuesday and we will be working hard to put things right at the weekend."

Harper confirmed he will look at making changes for game with Jean-Paul Marna in line for a start after impressing as a second-half substitute at Moss Lane.

And the Poppies boss is also hopeful captain Ian Roper will return after his absence was all-too obvious on Tuesday.

"We have done well and the lads have put in a real effort just recently. But maybe we need to freshen things up a bit," Harper added.

"JP maybe has a point to prove and that could be good news for us.

"I thought he was magnificent when he came on at Altrincham and I think it's the best I have seen him in terms of effort, work-rate and desire.

"Ropes was a big miss for us and we hope he will be okay for Saturday. It's just a case of wait and see for that one."
