Corby Town boss Graham Drury is demanding a performance from his side when they face Rothwell Town in the GX Southern League Cup tomorrow.
Drury was an angry man on Wednesday night after a combination of poor finishing and bad decisions by the officials cost his team top spot in the BGB Southern League Premier Division as they lost 1-0 at home to Oxford City.

And he is determined to
see the Steelmen get back on track by making sure they find the net against Division One Midlands strugglers Rothwell.

As a result, the Bones are likely to be facing a stronger Steelmen side than many might have expected – although Drury has his hands tied
up front with Steve Diggin and Martin Wormall the only fit strikers available to him.

"I hate losing games and I hate losing even more when it's because the officials have made mistakes," he said. "But, that said, we made enough chances against Oxford to ensure that errors from the referee or linesman shouldn't have mattered.

"I know we should be top of the league now. But we're not and it's because we didn't put the ball in the net.

"Before Wednesday, Diggin had five goals in one-and-a-half games. Yet, against Oxford, he never looked like scoring.

"What I want now is my strikers to make sure they get their eye back in against Rothwell and I want a performance from my team."

Drury has also moved strengthen his squad again by putting a seven-day transfer request in for Soham Town Rangers midfielder Michael Simpson.

Other targets are also being looked at and Corby will have a trialist
recommended by no lesser club than Manchester United in the side against the Bones.

"I never sit on my laurels – even when we're doing well," said Drury.

"I always want competition for places and, even if we've won 20 games in a row, when a player becomes available who I think will strengthen the side then I'll look to bring him in."
