Euan Murray says the British & Irish Lions are not worried they haven't faced any of the Springbok side in their provincial games.
With just one game left before the first Test at Durban on Saturday, the Lions have a perfect record of five wins from five games.
The Saints star looks set to start against the Southern Kings in Port Elizabeth tomorrow as he continues his battle with England's Phil Vickery for the tighthead spot for the Test series.
It will again see none of the Springbok squad in action, which was highlighted more than ever in Saturday's 26-23 win over Western Province, who had nine players withdrawn because they are in the South African squad.
But Murray said: "It doesn't concern us really, South African rugby has good strength in depth.
"Just because the Test players haven't been there doesn't mean the opposition haven't been good.
"They have been good and tested us.
"We won't be able to tell if there is anything in that until we play the Tests."
South Africa did exactly the same when the Lions toured in 1997.
They hid all their Test players from the warm-up games, but it
backfired as the Lions gained momentum and won the series 2-1.
Murray will be hoping history repeats itself as he prepares for a bruising Test series against the world champions.
"We will see if that is the case," said Murray.
"We are just taking each game as it comes."
Murray showed his worth in the scrum when he came on against Western Province, winning two penalties at scrum time to give James Hook the chance to win the game.
Meanwhile, Saints centre Joe Ansbro will be hoping to get his first start for Scotland A against Uruguay in the IRB Nations Cup tomorrow after missing the opening 49-7 win over Russia in Bucharest.
