A stolen pick-up truck was driven at high speed through Northampton streets - scattering tools out of its open back doors.
The truck was stolen when a builder was unloading it in Eady Close, Moulton.

While he unloaded the van, a number of men jumped into it and reversed at speed into Overstone Road, Moulton.

The stolen vehicle then made off along Overstone Road wit
h the back doors still open and tools falling out onto the carriageway.

The theft happened between 11am and 11.20am on Wednesday.

Police believe the vehicle then travelled to the roundabout junction with Kettering Road before taking the second exit along Overstone Lane.

It then turned left onto Sywell Road heading towards Overstone and Sywell.

"The vehicle, which as a black Nissan Navara pick up with a double cab, was travelling at speed without regard for other traffic," said a police spokesman. "Its registration was RSU 765."

Police also believe that one of the offenders got out of the stolen truck in Overstone Road and into a white vehicle, possibly an estate car.

Anyone who saw this car and who has more information about this incident can contact Northamptonshire Police on 08453 700700 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
