Twist
WHY: Twist is a comical thriller brought to the stage by the Desborough Amateur Dramatic Society.
The story is centred on one man's plot to turn his kiss-and-tell story of his famous wife into an international best seller.
After thinking about how to do this he decides the only way to achieve this is to murder her first.
Simon Debenham had the immense task of playing the lead, David Woods, and did so suitably though more of the 'mild mannered' characteristic could be brought through. One character that really gave the play its comedy was Mrs Beck, brilliantly played by June Jones.
The staging was executed well and the society made good use of the space available to them.
Each intricate touch was effective; from the array of photographs of Sarah Woods to the clock on the wall changing time to suit the scene. This was complemented with the use of simple lighting.
Overall the production was pleasant and provided ample entertainment in the intimate space.
