Sue Jackson has written a family story book based on her family, she used to live in Wellingborough but now lives in Northampton.

A woman has written a book on her childhood years when she lived in Jubilee Crescent, Wellingborough.

Sue Jackson, née Chambers, wrote the book The Other Half of the Crescent about her early years on the Kingsway estate.

It follows the ups and downs of her life with her parents Emma and Harold Chambers and her siblings.

Sue, who worked in nursing at Northampton General Hospital and in social care and health, is now retired and lives in Northampton.

She plans to spend her retirement indulging in her favourite pastime of writing.

She said: “I have had so many people ring me up already with their own memories after reading the book. It has evoked lots of memories for people.”

The Other Half of the Crescent is on sale at Wellingborough Museum, West-End DIY in Wellingborough, Jeyes in Earls Barton and A Most Marvellous Place to Shop in Northampton.

Sue will be signing copies at 11am on Saturday at Wellingborough Museum and on Saturday, February 4, at Wellingborough Library. After the signing the book will go on sale in county libraries.
