Play day is fun for children
Around 50 youngsters who suffer with autism enjoyed themselves at a huge children’s play area.
The voluntarily-run Spectrum group took over Kids Play in Thurston Drive, Kettering, for a session before Christmas. The group regularly rents out venues throughout the year where young autism sufferers and their parents can have fun with similar people.
Laura Price, secretary to the committee at Spectrum, said the event had been a great success with the youngsters.
She said: “It was a brilliant event with so many parents telling me how much they enjoyed it.
“We try to put on around 10 events a year at Kids Play.
“Unfortunately, our money is drying up so we’re looking for sponsorships or donations to keep on doing what we do.
“Spectrum gives these youngsters a chance to go to places they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to.
“It means the world to a lot of families.”
