Northamptonshire Police have warned residents that CDs or DVDs being sent through the post with a Tyneside postmark should not be used on any devices as they might contain viruses.
The unsolicited mail, that arrived in an envelope with a second class stamp, contains a disk with files that appear to be court evidence.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "We had three reports yesterday – two in Edward Road and one in Martin Road regarding these DVDs that appear to have been sent from the Tyneside area.
"We are advising people to call us if they receive anything of this nature and not to play the DVDs on any devices as they may contain viruses."
Fraudsters may try a number of different approaches to try and install a virus onto computer systems.
