Cransley is challenging people to run either 5k or 10k in the hospice's BIG run in September.

It is just one of many essential fundraising events the hospice has been forced to cancel due to coronavirus.

Cransley is a charity and needs to raise more than £1.4m every year to provide its exceptional palliative care. this year it expects funds to be down by around £450,000.

The hospice has been running alternative events in an effort to keep fundraising up. The annual road race has been postponed but as an alternative, you can take part in the BIG run.

Participants are challenged to get sponsored to run a 5k or 10k anywhere and anytime between September 20 and 27.

Runners who raise more than £25 will get a Cransley Hospice water bottle and anyone that raises £100 or more will get a special commemorative medal.

The BIG run is just nine weeks away, which gives participants the perfect amount of time to start the couch to 5k programme or work their way up from 5k to 10k.

Running is an excellent way to improve physical and mental health, which has been especially important during the last few difficult months.

Cransley Hospice said its staff have been working throughout lockdown and have tried to be mindful of their own health during this time.
