Wellingborough mum hopes to be crowned best bum

A Wellingborough mum is hoping her bum has what it takes to be crowned the best in the world today.

Georgina Griffiths, 21, will be competing against finalists from 29 countries in the hope of earning the title of the World's Most Beutiful Bottom 2008.

The competition is run by underwear maker Sloggi and the owner of the winning derriere walks away with 15,000 Euros and a modelling contract with Sloggi. Most importantly, they will also receive an insurance policy for their prize-winning bum.

Georgina, who gave birth to her daughter Summer just five months ago, was yesterday rehearsing for the catwalk show at the competition venue - the historic indoor swimming pool Club Quartier Latin in Paris - and today she will be hoping to wow the judges with her behind in the world final of Show Me Your Sloggi.

Georgina said: "I am really excited. I had to get up at 3am this morning to fly to Paris and it has been a really long day with the rehearsals but I can't wait.

"I feel quite confident but there are lots of different bums here so it depends what the judges are looking for."

Georgina entered the competition by posting a photo of her bottom on the Sloggi website. To qualify for the UK final she needed to get 400 votes from people who visited the site.

And after triumphing in London, Georgina now hopes her bum will win her the international title.

She said: "Quite a lot of people have found out about the competition. I posted one of the Sloggi photos on my Facebook page and everyone has been really supportive.

"I haven't really done anything to prepare for the final. I haven't been to the gym but I have been dancing around my living room because Summer has started laughing now and that always makes her laugh."

She added: "I would love to win the modelling contract because once you've had one contract they say it's reasonable easy to get more work."

The UK's male finalist is Marc Blackman, 35, of Surrey. The winners will be chosen by a jury which includes astronaut Paolo Nespoli, who wore Sloggi underwear in space, Lomig Guillo, editor of FHM France and supermodel Adriana Karembeu.

See tomorrow's Evening Telegraph to find out how Georgina got on.
