Wardens ready to patrol the streets
A team of super wardens are to patrol in Kettering 12 hours a day, six days a week from the beginning of October in a bid to clamp down on littering, dog mess and illegally parked cars.
Kettering Council is in the process of launching a new team of seven wardens through a combination of existing and new staff to create a "multi disciplinary team" to work across Kettering and surrounding towns including Burton Latimer, Barton Seagrave, Desborough and Rothwell.

From October, the team will patrol the streets from 8am until 8pm looking for people breaking the law.
The new plans were discussed by Kettering Council's A6 Towns Forum Last night.
Council environmental services manager Chris Stopford said: "We are in the process of bringing this team together, merging the car parking and environmental services teams.
"When the team is fully staffed and operational seven wardens will be available to undertake the full range of duties.
"This in time will include the enforcement of residents parking schemes across Kettering when this is agreed with Northamptonshire County Council. It is planned that 75 per cent of their time will be spent out on patrol.
"We want them on the streets as much as possible, not in offices. Although the hours will be from 8am until 8pm that does not mean that they will not be able to issue fines outside of the hours."
During the meeting it was asked if the wardens could patrol earlier in the morning, in a bid to catch people not clearing up after their dogs,
However, Mr Stopford said there was only a limited number of hours available during the day to patrol.
When the team takes over enforcing the permit parking zones which are
being introduced in Kettering they will be on patrol every day.
Between April this year and September 8, the existing wardens dealt with 432 cases of fly tipping. Of these, 92 led to formal investigations and two prosecutions.
Fixed penalty notices were given to 1,128 motorists for not paying while parking.
